It’s official: the
St. John’s men’s basketball team just punched its ticket to the
2011
NCAA Tournament.
The Red Storm will be a No. 6 seed in the Southeast Division,
playing No. 11 seed Gonzaga in its first game of the tourney. The
match will be broadcast live on CBS from Denver on Thursday, March
17 at 9:45 p.m.
This year’s
selection is a well-deserved honor for the resurgent Red Storm and
their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002. Led by 10 senior
players and first-year Head Basketball Coach
Steve Lavin, the team captivated New York City this season with
thrilling wins at Madison Square Garden, making national headlines
along the way.
