On Tuesday, February 2, 2010 approximately 30 alumni and
friends of St. John's University gathered for a pre-game reception
prior to the men's basketball game between St. John's and BIG EAST
rival Rutgers University. The event was hosted by the Central New
Jersey Alumni Chapter and partially sponsored by Michael Bart
'85CBA.

The reception was held at the popular Old Man Rafferty's in New
Brunswick, NJ and featured hors d'oeuvres and
cocktails. Alumni enjoyed the opportunity to show their
support for alma mater by participating in a raffle for interesting
and unique items before heading off to the Rutgers Athletic Complex
to voice their Red Storm pride in an exciting game against the
Scarlet Knights..
"It was fantastic to see so many St. John's students make the road
trip to the game," said Ernie Feiteira '98CBA. "In 15 years, this
is the first time I've seen this, and it was wonderful to see such
spirited and prideful students cheering on the Red
Storm."
Robert Orlowski '77NDC, '83MBA was grateful for the chance to catch
up with old friends while making new ones who shared his commitment
to the University. "It was great re-connecting with some people
that I knew when I went to St. John's," he noted, "and just as
important, meeting new, more recent graduates and networking and
making friends with them. All alumni should take advantage of
these events. They're a lot of fun and bring back memories.
Activities like this re-energize you!"
Besides offering alumni an opportunity to get together with one
another, events such as this strengthen their connection to the
University that obviously means so much to them. "It's great
to see our alumni coming back to St. John's and having such a good
time," remarked Nicholas A. Legakis '97SVC, '07MPS Director,
Institutional Advancement, Staten Island. "We often speak
about our St. John's family being forever, and that reality
obviously rings true with so many of our alumni. It's one of
the many things that make the St. John's experience so incredibly
unique."
