As an institution dedicated to its Vincentian
mission, St. John’s provides many opportunities for its students to
integrate academics and community service. Academic
Service-Learning (AS-L) is a program that brings faculty and
students together to apply theory and practice in an effort to
support those most in need.
For each AS-L project, the class identifies an
agency or organization and works with them to provide on-site
assistance and service. Students then return to the classroom to
analyze and understand the value of their work.
