Letter from the Associate Dean for Student Development

Welcome! Your child is about to begin an exciting first semester at St. John's University. No doubt, you share this sense of excitement. That is why the St. John's faculty, administration and staff are eager to assist you in every way as your child makes the transition to life and learning in our supportive campus community.

For this reason, we invite you to participate in Parent Orientation. Your attendance at Orientation will provide you with a fuller understanding of University policies and procedures, services, and opportunities. Attending Orientation will also strengthen your own sense of camaraderie with personnel at St. John's.

Orientation reflects St. John's concern for the total development of every student. This spirit is rooted in our 142-year heritage as a Catholic, Vincentian, and Metropolitan University. St. John's offers an education that prepares you for personal and professional success in our global society. When you attend Orientation, you will learn about the benefits of the St. John's experience.  The many student services available to you include but are not limited to academic support, career preparation, extracurricular activities, and special services.
