October 07, 2008

Interactive Bus Provides Voter Information on Candidates, Issues and Voting Records

As Election Day 2008 draws near, the St. John’s University “PARTICIPATE in ’08” effort continues to engage the University community in important Election Day issues.  Another tangible opportunity to educate and engage students on the candidates and their ideas will occur when the Project Vote Smart Bus makes a stop at both the Queens and Staten Island Campuses of St. John’s University.

Scheduled stops for the Project Vote Smart Bus at St. John’s include:

  • Staten Island Campus: Tuesday, October 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Queens Campus: Thursday, October 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Montgoris Dining Hall

“The St. John’s University PARTICIPATE in ’08 effort continues to provide the University community with unique opportunities to learn more about the many important issues that are at stake in this year’s election, as well as information on the candidates who are running for public office,” said Brian Browne, Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at St. John’s University.  “The Project Vote Smart Bus, in a non-partisan manner, will allow all of our students to easily investigate the critical political issues and, more importantly, where the candidates from around the country stand on these issues.”
