Housing Deposits

Deposits are due by 3:00pm on Friday, February 8th

Make a Housing Deposit

A $500 housing deposit must be made to St. John’s University.
The University will begin accepting deposits Monday, January 14, 2013 until Friday, February 8, 2013 by 3:00 p.m. EST.

Online Payments

  • Students can pay by check or credit card by logging in to their personal UIS account. Select the Student Menu, then Student Account, and then Housing Application for Continuing Student.

  • Parents and other authorized users can visit www.stjohns.edu/services/financial/bursar/tuition to access the Student Accounts Center to pay the Fall Continuing Student Housing Selection Deposit on behalf of their student. If the student has not designated and “Authorized User”, they may do so through Student Account Suite by clicking on the Authorized Users tab.

*Please Note: All prior financial obligations and Spring 2013 outstanding balances must be satisfied in order for a housing deposit to be accepted (i.e. parking tickets, past due balances, etc).  If the student has an outstanding balance, and attempts to pay their $500.00 housing deposit, the payment will be applied to any outstanding balance and will not be reflected as a housing deposit.  Credits from current and previous terms on students account cannot be used to satisfy a Fall 2013 housing deposit payment.  In addition, a housing deposit does not guarantee participation in the University Housing Selection process.

What Happens After The Deposit Is Paid?

Students who satisfy the $500 housing deposit by the February 8, 2013 3pm deadline will then undergo an eligibility review process. At this stage students are reviewed to determine if they are eligible to continue in the housing selection process and participate in the next steps.  Students undergo both an academic and student conduct review. Students can be disqualified from the housing selection process at this stage if they fail to meet the qualifications.

What would deem a student disqualified?

  • Students with a cumulative G.P.A less than a 1.95 at the completion of the Fall 2012 term will not be eligible to participate.

  • Students who have received student conduct sanctions permanently restricting them from University-managed living properties will not be eligible to participate.
