What is Orientation and why is it important to attend?
St. John's Orientation program brings the University together to welcome new students. Orientation is mandatory for all new students, whether they are freshmen, transfer, international, resident or commuter students. During the Orientation, students will have the opportunity to become better acquainted with the academic environment; the support services available and important locations on campus. You will also be able to learn about the St. John's experience from current students. Orientation is something you don't want to miss!
When is my Orientation?
International students are required to participate in Orientation on January 19, 2010.Students will receive a notice from the Office of International Admissions if they are required to take the ESL test. The English as a Second Language (ESL) test will be administered at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

What is an Orientation Leader (OL)?
An Orientation leader is a St. John's student who embodies the values of the St. John's University. Chosen to assist incoming students with their transition to college, Orientation leaders are involved in a variety of activities at the University. They are here to answer your questions from the St. John's student perspective.
What should I bring to Orientation?
During Orientation, students spend time walking around campus. Therefore, students should wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Photo identification is also required.
Is there a fee to attend Orientation?
There is no fee for students to attend Orientation. However, students may want to bring money for souvenirs, snacks, books, etc., from the St. John's bookstore or vending machines.
Do I get my laptop at Orientation?
Yes, all International students will have the opportunity to pick up their University-distributed laptops on on January 19.
