A Special Invitation to Parents and
Guardians
Families are important to the St. John's community. For that
reason, St. John's offers a Parent Orientation program. We strongly
encourage parents and guardians to attend an Orientation with their
student. Special sessions cover a variety of topics relevant and
helpful to parents of a new college student, especially how you as
a parent can support your child during this time of transition to
St. John's University.
Parent
Orientation
During Parent Orientation, you learn about
numerous services and opportunities we provide to involve students
not only in the St. John’s community, but also in their own
personal and intellectual development. Career development,
leadership development, community service and educational, social
and cultural activities of all kinds are available to our students.
You can meet and talk with current students who share their
experiences of being a member of this University community. We
believe you will find Parent Orientation a great chance to network
with other parents and share in the excitement of a new chapter in
your child’s life.
Spring 2010 Orientation will take place on
Tuesday, January 18, 2011at 8:30
a.m. on the Queens and Staten Island Campuses.
