What is Orientation and why is it important to attend?
St. John's Orientation program brings the University together to welcome new students.  Orientation is mandatory for all new students, whether they are freshmen, transfer, international, resident or commuter students.  During Orientation students will have the opportunity to become better acquainted with the academic environment; the support services available and important locations on campus.  You will also be able to learn about the St. John's experience from current students.  Orientation is something you don't want to miss! 

When is my Orientation?
The one-day Orientation program for transfer students begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

What is an Orientation Leader (OL)?
An Orientation leader is a St. John's 
student who embodies the values of the St. John's University.  Chosen to assist incoming students with their transition to college, Orientation leaders are involved in a variety of activities at the University.  They are here to answer your questions from the St. John's student perspective.

What should I bring to Orientation?
During Orientation, students spend time walking around campus.  Therefore, students should wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.  Photo identification is also required.

Do I need to bring money?
St. John's provides lunch during the one-day Transfer Orientation, but students may want to bring money for souvenirs, snacks, books, etc., from the St. John's bookstore or vending machines.

When do I get my class schedule?
Transfer students register through advisors in their college.  This will take place prior to their January 19 Orientation date.

Is there a fee to attend Orientation?
There is no fee for students to attend Orientation

Do I get my laptop at Orientation?
Yes, all Transfer students who attend Orientation on January 19 2010 will have the opportunity to pick up their University-distributed laptops.
