International Law and Diplomacy Certificate

The Department of Government and Politics offers students the opportunity to complete a Certificate in International Law and Diplomacy. This certificate can be obtained independently or as a complement to the master’s degree. Students who have already completed their M.A. degree in the department may continue to study for the certificate.

Matriculated and special students must successfully complete 18 credits (6 courses) in international relations and comparative politics. A minimum of 2 courses out of these 6 must be taken from the following International Law and Diplomacy courses (GOV 271, 341, 343, 344). 100-level courses taken for undergraduate credit and graduate conditional courses that do not count in the program cannot be used for the certificate.

Eligible students will automatically receive this certificate upon conferral of their degree.
