Greg Forbes Siegman

Greg Forbes Siegman is the real-life inspiration for The Silhouette Man by Jillip Naysinthe Paxson. The book — which tells the story of an ordinary young person making a small but meaningful difference and the ‘ripple effect’ of those efforts  received the 2009 Wisdom Speaks honor in Canada. The First Thirty, a condensed version of the book, was honored in New York as NSDL C 2007 Multicultural Relations Book of the Year.

For his efforts in diversity and philanthropy, Greg has received a number of honors including the Jefferson Award for Public Service. In 2005, he was recognized at Princeton University as one of America’s top social entrepreneurs under 40. He has been featured by media like USA Today, College News and “Good Morning America.”

During his visit, Greg shares his story and speak about the ability of young people to make a global impact on a local level — efforts that mirror St. John’s own mission as a Catholic University in the Vincentian tradition of service.
