This informative event will teach you about the importance of
community gardens, the positive impacts they can have and how
you can help create more of them in Staten Island. Featuring panel
discussions and a networking reception, you'll be able to make
connections with fellow alumni while learning how to improve
communications between community gardens, food pantries and
volunteer organizations. By becoming more educated about this
important topic, we can ensure that more fresh produce is available
on Staten Island. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Bring canned goods or non-perishables in order to buy a ticket
for our raffle.
This event is sponsored by St. John’s University, Project
Hospitality, Roots of Peace, Staten Island Hunger Task Force, City
of New York Parks and Recreation, GreenThumb and GrowNYC.
