St. John’s University Dr. M. T. Geoffrey Yeh Art Gallery
(formally Chung-Cheng Art Gallery) presents
"Commissioned Non
Commissioned"
an exhibit of various media, including photography, sculpture
and paintings.
"The artists featured in this exhibit have successfully utilized
various forms of visual expression while maintaining their sense of
artistic and aesthetic integrity," said Joseph Adolphe, Curator of
the exhibit. "This show illustrates the struggles artists must
endure to make a living doing what they love to do." The title of
the exhibit "Commissioned Non Commissioned," refers to the artists'
purpose for creating the piece, "commissioned" is a work the
artist was hired to create and "non-commissioned" is a work created
solely for the purpose of creative expression.
All "non commissioned" works will be showcased in the main
gallery and "commissioned" pieces will be in the small showcase,
located adjacent to the main gallery. Artists featured in this
exhibit include: Marshall Arisman, Nathan Bond, Costa Vavagiakis,
Steve Assael, Thomas Woodruff, Warren Linn, Steve Mayse, Jerome
Lagarrigue, Tim Okamura, Carol Fabricatore, John Ferry and Burt
