One Tenure-Track Position
St. John’s University recently established a
Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program to address the
urgent need and demand for public health professionals and to meet
the challenges of public health in regional, national, and global
communities. St. John’s is one of America’s leading Catholic

The Department of Pharmacy Administration and Allied Health
Sciences invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track position
as Assistant Professor – Industry Professional for the Public
Health program with a fall 2013 start date. We are seeking
applicants who have research interests and experience in community
health and/or global health. The successful candidate will
teach graduate courses in the Public Health program and possibly
some graduate and/or undergraduate courses in the Department of
Pharmacy Administration and Allied Health Sciences.
Responsibilities:
· Teach graduate
MPH courses and other graduate and undergraduate courses as
needed.
· Conduct
independent and collaborative scholarship
· Engage in
university, community and professional service
· Participate in
Public Health program implementation and future initiatives
· Advise and
mentor graduate students
Qualifications:
· Candidates
should have a doctoral degree in public health or in a related
discipline; demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly work; and
demonstrate the potential to pursue external research
funding. Previous teaching experience and an earned MPH degree
is a plus.
· This position
is subject to a comprehensive background screen, with employment
contingent upon satisfactory results. If access to a University
vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for driving
record and valid driver’s license is also
