Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, the
Coordinator will provide support for a campus-wide fitness program,
including group fitness class, personal training, and various
fitness workshops and seminars. The Coordinator will oversee
one graduate assistant and sixty to seventy student staff and per
diem officials and instructors.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day operations
and programming of the fitness center.
- Develop health and fitness educational programs.
- Train and supervise fitness center staff.
- Develop marketing and promotional materials for the Fitness
Center operations.
- Facilitate workshops on various health and fitness issues.
- Program and facilitate Yoga, Kickboxing, and Aerobic
classes.
- Research, coordinate and implement an instructional service for
strength and conditioning training.
- Research, coordinate, and implement a Personal Training Service
for the campus community.
- Create and advise a Strength and Conditioning Student
Organization to assist in the continued assessment of fitness and
wellness needs for the campus community.
- Coordinate a collaborative effort with other university
departments, such as Athletics and campuses to sponsor programs
that benefit the fitness and wellness needs of the university.
- Assist the Associate Director in coordination and
implementation of all aspects of the Campus Recreation
Program.
- Assist the Associate Director in determining and preparing the
budget for fitness and wellness programming.
- Prepare, review and submit reports as needed.
- Evaluate programs and make recommendations each semester and
annually.
- Serve as a member of the campus/university committees (as
assigned).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Recreation, Physical Education,
Sports Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of one to three years professional experience in the
college recreation field or recreation and fitness industry.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours required.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED required.
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and
contingent upon the departmental budget.
