Job Description
The Director of Academics is responsible for managing, overseeing, and proposing new academic programs for existing programs and new study abroad programs.  This position reports to the Executive Director of Global Studies.
Responsibilities

  • Direct outreach to faculty to create new programs and support existing programs.
  • Create and update faculty program creation manuals.
  • Create and update faculty brochures for study abroad “buy in.”
  • Coordinate and manage faculty interest groups for new program creation.
  • Seek out and propose new academic programs for existing and new study abroad programs.
  • Conduct regular curriculum review of existing programs, proposing and implementing changes as needed.
  • In conjunction with staff abroad, ensure that faculty is in place for all programs abroad.
  • Coordinate creation and updating of manuals and materials for adjunct faculty abroad, including manuals for academic service learning.
  • In conjunction with the NYC service learning office, propose, coordinate, and review academic service learning opportunities abroad.
  • Coordinate calendars for all programs abroad, ensuring that calendars are always in place for 2 academic years.
  • Review all faculty program proposals, making recommendations on new program creation.
  • Organize, maintain, and normalize all MOAs, exchange agreements, and other agreements with international organizations (and other related agreements).
  • External recruitment visits as needed.
  • Supervision of Coordinator of Academics and ASL.
  • Ensure that all programs have academic service learning as a core component of the implementation.
  • Work with the Registrar to ensure that programs meet need for progress toward degree.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience, preferably within a higher education environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Interest in working in an idea-driven, fast paced environment.

Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget.
