Job Description
The Director of Laboratories will coordinate all the biomedical and
pharmacy practice labs taught by the Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences.
Responsibilities
- Run all lab pre-sessions to ensure all experiments are properly
run.
- Involvement in assessing and reviewing all teaching fellows
with approval of the Chair of the Pharmaceutical Department.
- Recommend the hiring or dismissing of graduate teaching fellows
and assistants.
- Ensure all experiments meet the competencies of the Pharmacy
and Allied Health Curricula.
- Synchronize the laboratories with the topics in the Drugs and
Disease course where possible.
- Keep the lab manuals and animal protocols up to date.
- Write all new 1 year animal protocol updates and rewrite new
updated protocol every three years.
- Responsible for meeting all IACUC guidelines.
- In conjunction with the Animal Care Center, train all necessary
teaching fellows and graduate assistants in animal procedure.
