Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Campus Life, the Assistant Director manages the operations of a wide variety of programs and services to university students, including resident student programming, commuter student programming, Greek Life, Student Organizations, Intramurals, Fitness and Recreation and other related areas.  Evening and weekend work required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement short-and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness while effecting changes required for improvement.
  • Assist with recruitment, training and supervision of graduate assistants.
  • Formulates, develops, and implements programs and services for both residential, traditional, commuter and non-traditional student populations.
  • Works with the Director of Campus Life and the Dean of Student Life to ensure services and programs meet the needs of the student body.
  • Advises the Student Program Board and other student organizations on university procedures, problem solving, mediating, referrals, and program development.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with the University community, including faculty members, administrators, staff members and students.
  • Represent department on various committees as assigned by the Dean or Director of Campus Life.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative environment and develop effective relationships within the division of Student Affairs and with key stakeholders external to the division.
  • Must be a team player and willing to take initiative on new projects and embrace change.
  • Proven ability to work well with diverse populations required.
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget.
