Responsibilities
- Secretary to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions.
- Answer telephone and e-mails.
- Answer student questions related to graduate education.
- Put applications up on Banner (computer program).
- Enter decisions into Banner.
- Evaluate transcripts to come up with true grade point
average.
- Enter inquiries into databases and maintain databases.
- Make student appointments/meetings/calendar for Assistant
Dean.
- Make individual docket folders.
- Type and mail admission letters.
- File/fax; order supplies.
- Facilitate, set up and attend open houses.
- Work with the university and the school regarding
interdepartmental needs.
- Mail out brochures/applications/packets.
- Maintain brochure area and order when necessary.
- Act as a liaison for Graduate Admissions.
- Track online application receipts.
- Track bursar receipts/monies owed to department.
- Oversee student workers and graduate assistants.
- Fill out check requests/get budget numbers for
events/orders/purchasing.
- Additional projects as per Assistant Dean.
- Must attend four open houses in the evenings throughout each
semester.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to set and meet goals.
- Efficient multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize in a busy
office.
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and
contingent upon the departmental budget.
