Responsibilities

  • Secretary to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions.
  • Answer telephone and e-mails.
  • Answer student questions related to graduate education.
  • Put applications up on Banner (computer program).
  • Enter decisions into Banner.
  • Evaluate transcripts to come up with true grade point average.
  • Enter inquiries into databases and maintain databases.
  • Make student appointments/meetings/calendar for Assistant Dean.
  • Make individual docket folders.
  • Type and mail admission letters.
  • File/fax; order supplies.
  • Facilitate, set up and attend open houses.
  • Work with the university and the school regarding interdepartmental needs.
  • Mail out brochures/applications/packets.
  • Maintain brochure area and order when necessary.
  • Act as a liaison for Graduate Admissions.
  • Track online application receipts.
  • Track bursar receipts/monies owed to department.
  • Oversee student workers and graduate assistants.
  • Fill out check requests/get budget numbers for events/orders/purchasing.
  • Additional projects as per Assistant Dean.
  • Must attend four open houses in the evenings throughout each semester.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to set and meet goals.
  • Efficient multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize in a busy office.

Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget.
