Reporting
The AS-L Assistant will report to the Associate Director of Academic Service-Learning and work closely with St. John's in-country administrators in Rome, Paris and Seville.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Support in-country staff in promoting academic service-learning (AS-L) opportunities, completing AS-L paperwork, scheduling students to serve in the community, and other administrative tasks related to AS-L.
  2. Accompany students to community partner service sites, and communicate relevant information to community partners and in-country staff.
  3. Under supervision of in-country staff, work with existing community partners to identify needs that can potentially become AS-L projects.
  4. Maintain ongoing communication with Associate Director of AS-L in New York and prepare written reports regarding AS-L in Rome, Paris, and Seville.
  5. Assist with other service related projects and initiatives (University Service Day, etc.)  as assigned.


Skills and Knowledge
Experience with AS-L or other community involvement (service or volunteer work). Strong communication skills. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and attention to detail needed. Ability to speak Italian, French and/or Spanish is a plus.
