This month will focus on Breast Cancer Awareness and Talk About
your Prescriptions Month. Please read our October
newsletter which has informative articles on how to recognize
early signs of breast cancer and how to perform a breast self-
examination. The October newsletter also includes articles on
avoiding the flu and facts about generic medications.
October Events
This month’s events include wellness fairs on the Queens, Manhattan
and Staten Island campuses where free screenings are available for
cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure. The Pharmacy Care Service
will also provide sessions on Asthma and Celiac Disease. The
session on Celiac Disease will be facilitated by Dean Robert
Mangione of the School of Pharmacy & Allied Health
Professions.
