As an Oxford member, you have a Second Opinion benefit. There
may be instances when you disagree with a provider’s recommended
course of treatment. In such cases, you may designate that
Oxford designate another Network Provider to render a Second
Opinion. If the first and second opinions do not agree, We
will designate another Network Provider to render a Third
Opinion. After completion of the second opinion process,
Oxford will Precertify Covered Services supported by a majority of
the Network Providers reviewing your case. You are
responsible for the Copayment when you request a Second Opinion.
