Nature and Purpose of Agency
The Catholic Migration Office assists immigrants in a variety of immigration-related issues. The Catholic Migration Service also offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship test preparation classes and occupational training.  The CMO serves the following communities; all NYC, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), NY (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island)

Tasks Available for Students
Looking for juniors and seniors to help with writing cover letter and briefs, researching immigration law and data analyis/organization. 

Additionally projects within Catholic Charities

• Health Education Program, Community Outreach and Advocacy
• Resources Inc – job training program
• Graphics Design Department
• Social Services
• Translating – all languages; specifically Creole

Time Requirements
Must commit a minimum of once a week for six weeks. 

Student Awareness/Special Instructions
Legal studies background or interest in necessary.  Possible experience with Lexis Nexis a plus.

Take the QM1A Bus from Union Tpke/Utopia Pkwy station heading to Midtown, Manhattan.  Get off at 6 Av/36 St. and head south on 6th Ave towards W 35th St. Take the N train from 34 Street - Herald Sq station heading Downtown / to Coney Island.  Exit near New Utrecht Ave 2.0 and head south on New Utrecht Ave towards 63rd St.

Driving Directions
Start out going north on Utopia Parkway toward Union. Turn left onto Horace Harding Expressway N.  Merge onto I-495 W/Long Island Expy via the ramp on the left.  Merge onto I-278 W/Brooklyn Queens Expy via Exit 17W toward Brooklyn. Take the 6 Ave exit, Exit 20.  Turn left onto 6TH Ave. Turn right onto 65th St. End at 1258 65th St, on the right.
