Nature and Purpose of Agency
Youth Academic and Athletic Outreach Inc. (Yaaoi) is a non-profit corporation under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is also registered with the Charities Bureau.  This organization was formed by concerned parents with children in the New York City Public School system that recognized a need for intervention after their children failed to make the football team due to failing grades.  Although the school had some programs in place, the parents saw a need for enhancement by introducing a one-on-one tutoring program not only for the football team but for the entire school.  Further research of the school’s community revealed that there was a need for extracurricular afterschool activities to keep children involved in productive behaviors.  As a community all children should be treated as our own and we should provide them with a path to a productive future.
The mission of the Youth Academic and Athletic Outreach, Inc, is to provide academic, mentoring and extracurricular activity support to students primarily in the underserved School Districts of Queens County, while preparing them to become active and responsible citizens of their communities.
