Nature and Purpose of Agency
As an international network, we work in partnership with women and
those in social and economic distress. We promote human
dignity and justice by creating opportunities for economic and
social transformation; we are a fair-trade marketing project for
women in developing countries.
Tasks Available for Students
Financial – assist with entering Credit Card receipts; Boutique –
ongoing pricing and labeling; Research the following areas for
publishing info on website, incorporating into educational
materials and creating occasional product inserts for high end
products - Feminization of Poverty, Fair Trade Issues, Anthropology
of the indigenous communities we work with; Technical – assisting
with website through photography, prepping and uploading pictures,
publishing all details about products in the online store;
Inventory – assisting with inventory of products; Sales and Events
– helping staff run sales and events at parishes, women’s groups
and schools; Creative Projects – creating or developing projects
which support and further the mission of Handcrafting Justice on a
case-by-case basis; Niche Marketing Development – finding and
developing specific markets for products.
