Windows on Vincent

In this year, the worldwide Vincentian Family celebrates the 350th Anniversary of St. Vincent and St. Louise.  At St. John’s, one of the ways we enter into this joyous celebration is through a series of talks that combine a story from one of the beautiful windows in St. Thomas More Church with an important value in the faith of St. Vincent.  As we consider how the Gospel message was lived in the spirituality and ministry of St. Vincent de Paul, we hear the challenge of how we can live it today.   All are welcome!

Year for Priests Talk- “Discipleship and Listening: Parables”
Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Time
7- 8:30 p.m.

Location

Queens, St. Thomas More Church

Presenter
Fr. Patrick Griffin, C.M.

Central to any ministry in the Church is the necessity of listening, of opening up oneself to hear what God has to say. The parables of Jesus in particular challenge a disciple to open his/her ears and look at him/herself in the light of the Gospel message. In this session we will pay attention to the parables which one finds in Mark’s Gospel and to the encouragement which these parables offer to a person to listen with care in order to discern the way of discipleship.

All are welcome!
