St. John's University has now migrated to Voyager, a new
Integrated Library System (ILS) which includes the online
catalog.
The new Voyager system
provides users with:
- Powerful search capabilities
- Parallel searching across multiple libraries’ databases
- More patron-initiated functionality
- Links to electronic journals
- Books straight from the catalog screen
Powerful library tools to aid
students in their research also include: 155 online periodical
databases, email/chat reference help available at all times, and
electronic reserves.
Reserve items posted electronically on eReserves are available
to students anytime, anywhere. Students and faculty can
conveniently use their laptops to do research - whether they're
looking for hard-copy journals and books or online resources - by
taking advantage of the wireless network in the libraries and
elsewhere on campus or by using their own Internet connection from
home.
