More than 50 alumni and friends of St. John’s gathered at Sixty Park Grill in Newark, NJ for a reception prior to the St. John’s vs. Seton Hall basketball game on Thursday, February 5. The event, hosted by the New Jersey Alumni Chapter, offered the opportunity to mix and mingle.

Attendees were pleased with the reception and the value they received for their ticket.  Matthew Sosnowski '80NDC, '86MBA said, “I took a chance and invited eight of my professional associates tonight and they have nothing but great things to say about St. John’s. I’m so glad we came.”

One of Sosnowski’s guests, Peter Quigley, an alumnus of Rider University, had a lot to say in praise of the warm atmosphere.  “I’m a graduate of Rider, born in New York City, but sitting here right now, I realize I probably missed an opportunity to have some great and fun experiences had I attended St. John’s,” he said. “This is such a great bunch of people here tonight.”

The reception concluded with raffle prizes and an update of future events from Mike Bart '85CBA, Central NJ Chapter Coordinator, including A Day at the Races - Monmouth Park, Saturday, May 9 and a minor league baseball game, Thursday, August 20. Following the reception, fans made their way over to the nearby Prudential Center Arena to cheer for the Red Storm.
