Over 50 alumni and friends of the University gathered in the Kiernan Suite of the Kelleher Center for a pre-practice reception with Red Storm Head Coach Norm Roberts. The reception gave alumni an opportunity to speak with Coach Roberts and ask questions about the upcoming season.

“This is a wonderful event that really gets everyone in the spirit of the upcoming basketball season,” said Nicholas A. Legakis ’97SVC, ’07MPS Director, Institutional Advancement, Staten Island campus.  “There’s always a special feeling whenever a new season is about to begin, and we’re all looking forward to winning some great games against those really tough BIG EAST opponents.”

Following the reception, guests moved to the Campus Center Gymnasium to enjoy the excitement of watching the team practice to an audience of more than 300 spectators, including alumni, students and fans from the Staten Island community.

“My family and I have been coming to this for the past few years and love the fact that we get a one-on-one opportunity to hear what the Coach has to say,” said Maria Nardini-Gallo’85NDC. “It really connects our campus with the team that we all want to see win!”
