According to the U.S. Department of State, over 17,000 women and
children are smuggled every year into the Unites States alone.
Filmmaker Yan Vizinberg examines this tragic issue through his
latest fictional film, Cargo, which is set to premiere in NYC
theaters this Friday, October 21.
Luckily, STJ students will have the opportunity to see the movie
first before the majority of the public. Following the movie there
will be a Q&A session and students will have the opportunity to
ask any questions they may have, as well as discuss their
feelings/opinions on what they had just watched. The movie synposis
is as follows:
A young Russian woman, smuggled into America by human
traffickers, and a notorious Egyptian transporter, hired to drive
her from the Mexican border to New York City, form an unlikely bond
that transforms them and threatens to derail the traffickers'
