The Department of Accounting and Taxation in The Peter J. Tobin College of Business together with the Food Bank for NYC are proud to announce the launching of the 2010 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which will serve the communities of St. John’s Bread and Life and Jackson Heights, Queens during the 2010 tax season.
The VITA program welcomes volunteers who have a Junior, Senior, or Graduate class standing.
Interested volunteers must complete an application found at http://gateway.stjohns.edu/sites/classrooms/VITA
no later than January 2, 2010 for the January 8th class training.
A user name and password is required to access the application. The user name is your STJ full e-mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org
) and the password is your STJ network password. A STJ network password is the password used to gain access to campus-based computers and generally is either your 8-digit Storm Card number or Sj followed by the 8 digit storm card number, unless changed. Once the application is accessed, carefully follow instructions for application processing and subsequent procedures.
