Mission

The mission of Health Services is to maintain an optimal level of well being among all members of our university community.

Treatment of minor illnesses or injuries and information for local health care providers can be obtained in this office. Information regarding health issues, physical examination and immunization requirements as well as insurance information and claim forms is also available.

The nurses and support staff adhere to the ethical principles and codes of professional practice including patient confidentiality, privacy, dignity and informed consent. Information is not revealed to any source outside the health service, without the individuals informed consent. The only exception would be in cases of extreme urgency. These policies conform to legal statutes concerning the release of confidential information when required by state or federal law.

Students involved in an emergency situation requiring medical attention should notify Health & Wellness Services or Public Safety at ext. 4487. In the event of an on-campus emergency, if the office is closed, contact the Public Safety Office directly at 390-4487.

Any individual with a chronic illness, severe allergies or on a strict regimen of medication should give the information to Health & Wellness Services so that we may be aware of the particulars and be better able to serve the needs of the individual.
